Finally I got my order from Japan, PhotoFast G-Monster V3 SSD. According the website it has Read: 230MB/Sec Write: 160MB/sec ability with very reasonable price, I am not sure you can buy this in USA.

Mainly I'm a freelance doing Design and Video Editing (5mins - 20mins), My HD is scratching all the time during Final Cut RT or Compressor compressing HD files.

Anyway, I thought SSD might be a cheap and fast solution for me to put all working clips into SSD to improve loading & writing speed.

My Spec is Mac Pro 2.1 2007 Version, Two Quad 3.0Ghz (8Cores), RAM 1GB at moment (I sold my original 6 x 512MB, wait OWC deliver new one), Seagate 750GB 7200rpm Sata, Lacie Firewire HD, Buffalo USB HD.

TESTING Time with OSX Xbench & OSX AJA !

Wow, 224.13 For SSD, very impressive for me.

Whole System Test with SSD.

AJA: SSD - 1GB Test , very stable. but only 144.7/W 218/R (Advertisement is 160 / 230 !?!?!?!)

AJA : SSD - 2GB Test, For some reason not stable as 1GB, had few bumps

AJA: Seagate 750 1GB Test

AJA: Seagate 750 2GB Test, Seems Traditional HD works very stable.

AJA : Firewire 400 Test 1GB

AJA : Firewire 400 Test 2GB

AJA : Buffalo USB 2.0 - 1GB , I was very impressive, I though USB should much slower than Firewire. Its NOT

AJA :Buffalo USB 2.0 - 2GB, Again, kind of stable.

I haven't receive my RAM from OWC, can't really do a hardcore test in compressor. By testing few small HD video convert in compressor, seems its a bit smooth and much quiet than seagate 750GB.

In the other hand, SSD should be a good idea for Time Machine, obverse 32GB is not enough, Thinking to buy a 256GB to become Time Machine when price drop !?

I will post some other test once I got the RAM.

Does anyone when can I buy 2.5 Sata > 3.5 Sata converter for Mac Pro, Coz My HD is hanging there....
