Guys,

I am confused... I have downloaded lots of applications so that Quicktime can read severa other formats (divx, avi, etc...) I have quicktime pro and have been thinking if the codec to read mpg2 files is recommended or not, that is why I downloaded the other free applications.

Now I see there is a codec named perian... so, what with this, is it worth it? or insted the mpg-2 from apple is better??

Thanks
Juan

Perian 1.0 is coming soon, and that will be better, but basically Perian is a collection of a lot of codecs that you can get seperately. Try Flip4Mac for WMV though...

VLC works with almost every video though...

It's free... what more do you need to know? :D

Seriously, it adds a whole bunch of codecs to QT. Download it.

The only way to get MPEG2 support is to download the Apple QTMPEG2 component, costs $20 US....it's the only one I've found anyway. Sorry.
