I installed perian to play non supported movie file formats with QuickTime player. But when I try to play a .mkv file i get a message saying QuickTime version 7 have to be downloaded? Is this really going to fix the problem? I already have the latest quick time version. And if i continue downloading version 7, is it gonna install a separate (version 7) new version along with the quick time 10 i have currently installed? (end in with having both programs installed? )

Thanks for both replies. Never knew about the movist. I think I should give a try. Anyway, I would like if i can make Quick Time Player capable of handling all types of movie files.
