Hello,

I have a Mac Pro (Cylinder) with an external thunderbolt drive (with external power supply) and USB speakers (no external power supply) attached.
When the Mac wakes from sleep, both of these peripherals have to be physically unplugged/plugged to have the system recognize them again.

The following has been tried already:

1. Testing different ports.
2. Resetting SMC
3. Using 3rd-party utility to prevent the drive from getting ejected (Mountain)

Two additional pieces of relevant info:

1. The keyboard I use is a USB mechanical keyboard. This peripheral has no issues with the sleep/wake cycle.

2. Upon wake, the warning about removing a drive without ejecting it is displayed.

Originally, I thought there was a problem with the thunderbolt drive, since it was the only peripheral besides the keyboard that was plugged into the Mac. However, when I recently added the USB speakers and they exhibited the same behavior, I deduced the problem is at the Mac Pro end of things.

The speakers have been tested on a different machines, no issues. The thunderbolt drive has not been moved to a different machine yet.

Any other suggested solutions before I contact Apple support?

Thanks.
