Hi, i live in UK and i use at&t locked iPhone 4 unlocked with gevey sim, i was wondering are there any ways to permanently unlock it? There are some sites like unlockkings.com which offer this, but are they trustworthy?

The only permnent unlock were those where the unlocker had access to the system carriers use to unlock iPhones. However seems that Apple cracked down those and it is no longer available.

So, when I have already finished the length of my contract and move to another country, I won't be able to use my iPhone4? Is this correct?

unless the network you got the iphone from can unlock it, then yes you are trapped on that network forever.

i have been using gevey sim for a while and it worked good, but iOS 5 is coming out soon and unfortunately it isn't unlockable by gevey. I wish i had factory unlocked iPhone,

AT&T will have to unlock it for you. In the UK, O2 unlocks iPhones purchased from O2 for free.

Apple should make a way to unlock phones the way RIM does it.

code needs to be put into the phone, which is provided by the carrier (for stupid amount of money) or from a 3rd party.

it pisses me off that you can unlock blackberry's for free via 3rd party solutions, but you can't even unlock an iPhone.
