Hi guys,

I really want to install several tweaks from Cydia, but every single tweak wants to install Substrate Safe Mode. I know everyone thinks it's an important feature,
but my iphone is a little slow so everytime it goes slow it automatically resprings into safe mode. Is there a directory that can be deleted to delete safe mode?
I have Ifunbox, and the problem is I have to reboot to install tweaks from cydia autoinstall folder, and I have a broken power button. So everytime, I have to start a restore, and force itunes to quit, leaving it in recovery mode, and then kicking it out of it with tinyumbrella.
It's a long process.

Are you sure your device is going into safe mode because 'it goes slow'?

Safe mode doesn't cause your phone to respring in safe mode because it is slow. It causes your phone to respring in safe mode because a tweak that you have installed caused springboard to crash. Safe mode is simply preventing your phone from crashing completely and requiring a reboot.

Agree. It's something you installed recently thru Cydia which is causing it.

Well, I just deleted safe mode, I don't remember exactly where it was, but here's the result:

When it when into the sluggishness, it was like that but after a couple seconds it recovered and went back to normal speed. The Heck?

Yes this happened inmediately after a default redsnow ios 4.1 cydia install after deleting that safe mode it again went sluggish but then recovered and worked no probelms

It's great, until you need to remove a tweak that prevents your device from booting requiring a restore. Or you install something that causes Springboard to crash non-stop, not allowing you to remove it. An overall very bad idea.

Right!

And when that happens the OP will want to uninstall iOS because obviously iOS will be the problem and not the lack of safe mode or the fact that the OP likes to install incompatible tweaks.

You forget some people don't wear seat belts  and some cars dont have airbags.

All cars made in the US after 1994 must have operable airbags. The airbags must also be in a working condition when the vehicle goes in for inspection, if inspection is required in the state of registration. The EU and most other counties have similar requirements. Seatbelts have been a requirement since the 1970's.

I was just thinking it's more akin to ripping out the factory installed seatbelts and airbags.

They're there for a reason.

Just like some iPhones don't have Substrate Safe Mode (as they're not jailbroken).
This discussion is centered solely on those iPhones that are jailbroken and those automobiles that have seat belts/airbags.
As you would agree removing seat belts and airbags is a silly notion for cars, so is removing SSM on your jailbroken iPhone.

:)

That's right, safety first:)

Ok, lol, this discussion just Went from talking about cydia substrate errors to cars without airbags and seatbelts :D but anyways, i cant install flex 2 from biteyourapple or xsellize, cuz i don't want to spend money. It will download, it says it has been installed, but it wont show up on my springboard. Anyone could please help me?
