Hi all,

OSX decided this morning to ask for permission (admin password) when I create new folder/ rename existing folder on my My Passport HD. I've tried unmount and remount the drive, repair permission. I've "get info"ed the external drive and it shows that admin has both read/write privilege.
Anyone know how to make such requests go away?

Thanks a bunch!

Greetings from Beijing!

You can have Read/Write access at the root level but that won't give you access to the whole drive, if there are any subfolders or files those can be different, lets say you have a folder in the root level called 1234, the drive itself gives you access but the 1234 folder might not.

I was never asked for such permission before. Do you know how to make it go away? It's very annoying.
