Hi guys -
In my small office I run a MBA with OS X (10.7.5) networked with an iMac which runs on OS X (10.8.3). The network is run through a wireless router (although we are both wired in) and works fine at allowing us to share files etc. I host all files on my machine as it allows me to unplug and take all files with me with no effort. My colleague has full access to our company files through a shared folder.
The issue I have is that when my colleague creates a file on the shared folder (which is on my MBA) it sets my permissions to read only. I know that I can manually change this but it is a chore as we create a lot of files. I have tried to create groups etc but I cant get my head around whether I need to change settings on his iMac (as its him creating the file) or on my MBA as this is where the file is being stored - surely the latter, as with my account admin status on my MBA I should be able to have full access to everything?
Does anyone know how I can set it so that when he creates a file on my MBA shared folder the permissions allow me read and write access?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Joe
PS - changing where the files are hosted isnt an option at this time.
