I had a problem with my OSX 10.6 startup disk and had to restore it from a backup via carbon copy cloner. Afterwards I booted from the OSX install disk to repair the permissions and got the following message for some of the files "permissions can not be repaired" It was about 8 files that look like some system stuff. What other program can I use to fix this. Everything else look fine except my virtual box program does not work and trying to reinstall it it fails for a unknown error.
I am tempted to just wipe everything a do a clean install. Unless someone has any ideas?
Thanks

In general, repairing permissions is not necessary at all, unless you get some error messages like "cannot write/read/launch something due to permissions error", or similar.
