I posted this elsewhere without much success. I've been told it might be some sort of permisions problem. But I used disk utility to to a permissions repair, and the problem remains. here it is:
I'm having an issue with the ImageBrowser software that came with my canon powershot G9. They assure me it is a problem with my mac, not the software, so I'm here looking for some help/answers.
Here is the issue. There is a particular function of this software to process images taken in RAW format. When this is selected from the menu, a separate application called RawImageTask should open, but it doesn't. It tries to, and then aborts, and an error message appears. Now, the bizarre thing is that logged on as any other user on the computer, this does not happen. Everything works beautifully. So, that is why they tell me is is something on my mac interfering with that user. any ideas?
I have an imac osx 10.4.10, not intel.
when rawiamage task fails to startup, I'm asked if I want to report the problem to apple. this is the 1st bit of that message:
