Permissions not repairing

Recently I have had the problem of many permissions appearing to be irreparable.

Most are related to JavaVM.framework or pt_PT.lproj

It may be coincidental but it seemed that this happened after I installed Steam's Portal game.

Anyone know how I can repair these permissions?

Me and several other people on my computer science course have experienced something like this on our Macs a couple of months back, along with permissions errors relating to AirPort as well. I don't think it's anything to worry about considering that we haven't had any issues to complain about.

I've been having cursor problems though that I never have had before where I can not move the cursor out of a small area in the center of my monitor without it springing back (so I have to do a hard restart and delete caches or I can't use my system).

This occurs each time I activate/deactivate Steam's Portal.

Yet Steam's forum has no posts about this.

I don't know about the Java or pt.lproj, but this might apply to some who read this thread:

I'm having the same problem on my 2.8GHz Macbook Pro. Most seem to be java related and won't repair. I don't notice any problems being caused by this but am wondering if this is normal. Anybody else having this issue or are the java related permissions being successfully repaired for most people?

Don't worry about it - it appears to be quite normal and let's hope the next iteration of OS X will sort it.
