Hey all,

Here in the office we have 2 macs and a server. When I create any kind of file (Photoshop, After Effects, FCP etc.) The default permissions are locked down for others and is locked up. See pic.
How can I open all this up so it can be read write for anyone by default?

Mac OSX 10.5.8

Thanks,
Beck

I know how to change the permissions and it works when I do but the problem is that I have to do this every single time I create a file. I want the default to be unlocked for anything I create. Any ideas?

Well I'm knee deep in terminal poking around and learning loads. I'm also getting nervous.
Why am I getting this in the first place? Was there something in the osx install that I missed or forgot?

Those have always been the default permissions for user created files.

If you want something different you have to edit the umask to change it.
