I have connected my external HHD to my router and having problems editing the permissions on it.

I can connect to it and open the files on the drive but it won't let me make any changes at all and i cant seem to change the permissions on the folder?

Can anyone help?

Even if i unlock the little lock on the right it still does not let me make me the owner.

Firstly, that's an alias, not the Volume itself, so I'm not sure that changing the permissions of an alias on your Desktop will have the effect you're after.
There's no point in creating an alias on the Desktop, as you can set the Finder to show icons of volumes.

Secondly, if you Get Info on the actual volume, it should be possible to Ignore Permissions totally on the volume.

I have formatted the HHD to Fat32.

If if click get info on the actuall HHD i don't have the permissions options?
