folks - is there a calendar app for the iphone that can keep beeping every few minutes for an event till I dismiss it

The Reminders app can be set to a date & time will pester you every 15 minutes when that time arrives if you want it to.
 
If you snooze any calendar event, it will come back in 15 minutes. Or for a specific event you can add multiple reminders.
