Personal Hotspot Connections

I just noticed today that when I turn on my hotspot feature it jumps to 1 connected device quickly. When I then connect with my iPad it says 2.

I've changed the SSID and Password, and even turned off the Wifi on my iPad (and not connected it to the new SSID/pw) and it still says 1 connected device.

Is there any way for me to find out what/who that device is?
