Hi,

I keep my personal hotspot always on (it's secured with a password). My laptop, however, doesn't always see it and doesn't connect to it automatically.

I do not have a router. My phone is my internet at home, so my goal is to automatically have my macbook connect to my iphone when I'm at home. Can this be done? It's almost as if my personal hotspot will time out after awhile. So I will have to go into settings and turn off and then turn on my hotspot, and then my laptop will find it.

Is there a way to turn on personal hotspot in one-click?

Personal Hotspot is only enabled when you're looking at Settings > Personal Hotspot, otherwise it does not broadcast a Wi-Fi signal. If it's a recent Mac, you can use Instant Hotspot to enable it from the computer.
