Hi, a few months ago I was having battery issues with my iPhone 5 (at this point I was on iOS 7.0.6). While following Apple's troubleshooting guide to see if I could do anything about it, the guide stated that one of the first things you should do is update to the latest version of iOS (7.1.2). I previously hadn't updated to iOS due to Personal Hotspot problems on the original iOS 7.1 as I use it a lot and had no issues with iOS 7.0.6.

After updating, the battery life was even worse xD but in the recent weeks Apple has announced that some iPhones have a defective battery, and my phones was one of them affected. I now know not to worrying However, one thing that has happened is that personal hotspot is much slower now, and I cannot work out why. I have tried following Apple's troubleshooting steps with no succes. My connection on my phone is 15mbps at home but when I connect to my MacBook using personal hotspot using ANY way (WiFi, USB, Bluetooth) I never get above 3mbps. My plan is a 3 UK "One Plan" which includes up to 1000GB of data per month and also includes tethering.

Can anyone help me out here? And if I buy an iPhone 6 will the situation be improved? Will updating to iOS 8 and Yosemite fix the problem with continuity?

Any help would be appreciated :) Thanks!
