I updated my Homepod Mini to 14.5. I can change the Siri voice from the default voice 4, but if I do so, personal requests stop working. Instead Siri responds that he/she is still setting up personal requests and to try again in a few minutes. To get personal requests working, I need to switch back to voice 4.

Anyone else have this problem?

edit: so I decided to do as Siri said and wait a few minutes after selecting a new voice and it worked. I guess picking a new voice needs to do some kind of setup.

I'm pretty sure it starts to download some data after you select a new voice. My phone said "downloading" for a split second after I chose another voice. 🤔

So I would assume the same was the case for the Homepods.

Yeah I assumed it was downloading the voice, but the response about personal requests doesn’t make a lot of sense. Especially when asking for other info worked. Why would downloading the voice affect personal requests?

Wasn't all requests handled on device? I would think that something needs to be downloaded (& installed) in order to process data. :) Personal requests might be a separate thing, so they might take longer than other requests. I'm just speculating here. :)

Personal requests are pulled in from a nearby iPhone. The voice is use shouldn’t matter, but switching voices disables it for a few minutes.
