Peter Jennings passed away today in his apartment with his family.
I liked him as an anchor.

Here's the story... they didn't mention if he was a smoker, but I would guess that he was.

Sorry to hear of his passing... I wasn't even aware that he had been off the air since April.

Yes, I'm watching abc news now and I believe they said he started in the 60's and quit in the mid eighties. It also said he had a relapse during 9/11. I can remember watching him that day on abc, I think he did the most professional job of any of the anchors I saw covering it.
