Petition for disabling autocorrection

There is no setting to disable it on a non-jailbroken phone.

Jailbreak it and enjoy disabled autocorrection. :)
 
@MacCobbler: Autocorrection ist plain useless for German people. It doesn't work. It suggests wrong words 90% of the time.

@acfusion29: There is no option for turning it of in the settings. At least not in a non jail broken device.
 
i think there must be something done there.
people who write in a language that's not supported in the iPhone find themselves touching the text field more often than the keyboard, ok one could say the iPhone learns (3times tap away rule) but with all these resettings it starts all over again.
 
adding a keyboard "ABC" rather than language specific would solve sooo many issues with the autocorrection.. like writing in a different language.

Spanish support is not fantastic either.. there are a lot of tiny annoying things (like you can't write single-vowel prepositions (a,e,o or u) without getting a suggestion of a longer word (try to write "o" after having typed "otro" before.. as soon as you hit o it autosuggest otro. That's like having the english dictionary autocorrent " I " into "inside" or anyother word that beings with an i)
