Bit of a problem with the new update Apple just released. I am running Symantic PGP Whole Disk Encryption and when the update rebooted the MacBook Pro, the decryption passphraise no longer shows up and the MacBook bricks. I was able to find the support page on Symantic webside addressing this issue:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH178069

and it gives bootable files for the Mac that should patch and fix the problem. Fantastic.
Except my other computer is a PC.

Anyone have any clue how to burn a bootable image file using a windows PC without having to buy additional software? Symantic people are just so great at getting back to me on this...err...no.

Any help is huge. Thanks all.

Download something like Imgburn. It's free and gets the job done quickly

All you should have to do is download the iso/img/whatever, burn it to a DVD using Imgburn, and then boot from the disc on your Mac.

The disk you download will be a simple iso. Just use alcohol 120 or some other freeware tool. The boot disk is not specific to mac.

@hastings101 @eddyisgreat

Worked like a charm. I changed the extension .cdr to .iso then burned onto a DVD. Only then did the boot+c work.

You guys :D:D:D
Thanks!
