I’ve had a bug on my iPad with the App Library showing badges on folders for apps with badges disabled since iOS 18 came out. This didn’t appear to impact folders outside of the App Library, but today for the first time I got a phantom badge on a folder outside of the App Library which would not clear until I removed an app from the folder. When I put it back in the badge returned. It didn’t clear completely until I went into the app and went around to a bunch of different screens which cleared the notification.

Basically the bug wasn’t fixed in iOS 18.3 and seems worse now.

Anyone else see this or have a fix?

i have seen this problem, on both my macbook and my iPad.
i think im doing alot/most of message reading etc on my iPhone, and the message read xount is pushed to the mac and iPad sluggishly sometimes or if it was offline at the time.
a reboot of the affected device has cleared it up for me.
for two iOS devices it also would be good to check if both are logged in using the same main ID, not a "login-able" alias.

So annoying that they haven’t fixed this bug yet. I finally disabled notification badges in settings for Home Screen and App Library, but that removes core functionality from the device, and shouldn’t be necessary.
