I've had a Philips DS8530/37 speaker dock for a couple years now and love the sound but I am trying to find out if there is a bluetooth adapter I could use or anothe method I could use to give me wireless capabilities with my iPhone.

I tried a cheap bluetooth adapter I got off amazon but was told when it didn't work it was because it doesn't support digital audio or something along those lines.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

It's not Bluetooth, but: If your speaker unit can be connected to a device by an AUX cable, one option might be to use an Airport Express and AirPlay over wifi. I did that with an early 30 pin Altec Lansing speaker dock in our kitchen, and with an old bookshelf system in my office a few years back. In our case, the two AE units were joined to our network in client mode, but the linked doc provides several alternatives. The whole setup has worked pretty well for quite some time, and allowed us to keep using perfectly good stereos without being physically tethered all the time.
