Hi,
So usually im pretty cautious when it comes to clicking links and downloading files im not 100% sure comes from a safe source. But last couple of days I’ve been negoiating with a long-term client over email and yesterday I received this email
”Hi, check attachment, password is *random password*”.
In the email was a zip file that I downloaded containing a .doc file that I opened and then simply put in the password provided.
The document opened and it said ”this document was last opened in an older version of word, click enable to see the document” ( as an image file in the doc ) Im on Mac and I opened it with pages, so I asked my collegue to open it on his computer later. An hour or so later I got an email saying ”Hey, dont open the files, its a phishing scam”.
Now, What steps should I take next? Was this targeted against PC and am I safe? Any clues?
Little worried! Appreciate help
