phone # integration w/ Apple ID??

Followed the conference via twitter macrumorslive but haven't done much digging since it ended. was there anything mentioned for people's phone numbers and Apple ID's to be integrated together, so that iMessaging amongst various iOS and Mac devices will be seamless? I remember there was a "rumor" that w/ iOS6, there would be this integration. any info would be great... people are getting sick of my iMessages from my MBPr haha

its been doing it with ipads since beta 2 I think.and it will do it with macs when mountain lion 10.8.2 gets released
