I was getting used to Safari crashing every few minutes, but now the voice part won't work at all. Can't make or receive calls. Email seems to send and text messages are hit or miss. Can they actually fix these in the stores or does it take time, or likely in need of a replacement?

First, I would try reseting the iPhone by holding the on/off button on top and the home button for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears. If that doesn't work, I would sync it with iTunes and then do a restore on it through iTunes.
