phone not syncing properly with Address Book

I know that you can pair your bluetooth phone with Address Book so you can send SMS message through the program. But for some reason, it never works for me. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a V3 RAZR with a Belkin BT 2.0 EDR+ USB dongle and late 2004 iBook G4, all up to date.
