Phone Rings...Display Stays Off

So my 3GS rings but the display does not light. I have to hit the home button to see the call.

Any thoughts on fixing this?
 
My 1st 3gs did something similar. But the backlight was really dim. I had to press the on/off switch at top a few times to make it light up. Apple told me to do a backup and restore to fix it.
