Phone shuts down with 10-30% battery remaining

Both my 6s and my wife's 6 will randomly shut down when they still have between 10-30% battery remaining. It will flash the battery icon when you try to turn it back on. Once the charger is plugged in it turns back on shortly thereafter and then you can unplug the charger and continue to use it normally. Any ideas?

I had this problem with my iPhone 6s for months. Took it to the Genius Bar last week (after like 5 trips of them telling me to restore it etc) and got it replaced with a brand new one.

I have a similar experience. The battery is faulty, Apple should replace it under warranty with a new one.
