Today my phone kept turning off randomly even though it was not dead, and every so often it will get a blue screen. This time I thought that these bugs/glitches were permanent and it was a way of Apple forcing me to update to iOS 7. So I attempt to update the phone on both a Mac and a PC, and every single time it stops at the "restoring iphone firmware" screen and shows up with error (1) "phone cannot be updated blah blah blah." It is NOT error -1, it is error 1. I have tried DFU mode, I have tried tinyumbrella and kicking it out of recovery mode (didnt work), I have tried restoring the 6.1.3 firmware and even the 7.0 one but they're both blocked by fascist Apple. Are there any suggestions of what I can do next?

Try changing the USB port (the back one of chassis is better) and restart computer.

Also the installed version of iTunes may also be too old. Update iTunes.

I can assure you that there is no conspiracy involving forced updating to iOS 7 using blue screens. There is something else wrong.

I can't believe people honestly believe nonsense like this.

OP - It sounds like your phone is having some sort of hardware problem which is causing both your "blue screen" and inability to update to iOS 7. Take it to a Genius Bar and call it a day.

My warranty ran out on July 31 this past year. I don't want to waste a trip to the Apple store for them to send me home, especially since I don't have a car (Got into a car accident and cannot pay for repairs so I have to park it for a few months, this happened 4 days prior to my iphone crashing and me getting a 14% on an important midterm--yes I have had a hard week)
