iPhone XR. About a year old. Never had any issues with it. Charged it overnight. When. I got up this morning I can’t get apps to open, nor can I get the phone to turn off pressing the power and volume buttons together.

Any ideas on how to get this thing usable again??

Is your case pushing on buttons? Try taking out of case and powering off and back on after a few minutes.

I took it out of case immediately upon discovering the problem as it felt like it may be a little warmer than normal. That did nothing. And I can’t power it down at all.

Haven’t had a chance to try connecting to iTunes yet.

Well, I managed to kill the battery by playing music and maximizing the screen bulrush news for a few hours. Was a bit of a challenge keeping the screen in but I was mainly sitting in the couch watching TV during most of the time I got it done. Once it died I waited about 15 minutes and then plugged it in and waited for it to reboot itself. Everything seems back to normal now.

Mine did the exact same thing this morning. Left on charger overnight, as I always do. Picked up phone, nothing. Hit up/down volume then held power button, nothing. Plugged in, tried resetting again, still nothing. Put phone on desk to go online and research, tapped screen and it came on as if nothing happened. Full battery, no other problems. Maybe last IOS update, 13.1.2 is bad??
