Hoping someone can give me some quick help. My iphone5 battery died during the night and now it won't turn on while plugged in/charging. When I try to turn it on all I get is the battery meter showing a slight red level even though it's been plugged in for an hour or so.

Is it possible the phone's battery needs to be at a certain level before it'll turn on again?

Very possible. I had it happen to me once before. If the iPhone indicates that its charging, then wait a little longer.

Aside from trying another charger, try a hard reset: press and hold the power button and the home button at the same time and release only when you see the Apple logo on the screen.

give it a few minutes to charge up.. when the battery is fully drained, it won't turn on right away.. let it charge and then turn it on.

If it's simply low battery it will turn itself on when it's reached enough charge to do so.
