Phone's passcode screen is broke

I had put a passcode on my phone to unlock it. Well now I get to that screen and when I push the numbers it does not do anything. the numbers are highlighted showing that i pressed them but nothing goes into the boxes and i am unable to unlock my phone. Like I can still play my itunes because it was saved as my double click on the home button. I can't even turn the phone off. Does anybody else have this problem with the passcode? Is there a lockout period if u put the passcode in wrong too many times or is this just another bug.

Maybe pressing the Home button and the upper button at the same time for about 10 seconds will turn it off. After turning it on, it should work. It has happened to me several times. Keep me updated.
