Photo Attachments from Mail to Photos

There is no option to save a photo attachment in Mail to the new Photos App.
The only option is "save to iPhoto" and thats just what it does!
Does apple not test these things?

Also how can you view your images with the latest ones at the top of the screen as you had the option to do in iPhoto?
