Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble recording video with Photo Booth when using High Sierra. I used to be able to record video on Mavericks without a problem but with High Sierra my whole computer crashes after 6-30mins and requires a forced restart. This is after a fresh restart with no other apps running.

I've reset pram and had a snoop in activity monster and it seems that when the video is recording the kernel_task usage goes through the roof just before the crash.

I have over 700GB free on my startup and 22GB of ram. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this issue it would be great. Thanks in advance.
[doublepost=1530798248][/doublepost]Just thought to add that recording video with Quicktime doesn't produce and Kernel_task disk usage problem, it's only with Photo Booth. I'm fine just using Quicktime myself but the Photo Booth interface is quite simple for my young son to use.

Are you using MacBook Pro 2018 too? If so, then it might be T2 chip issue. I am having the same problem
