I have a early 2009 iMac and use Photo Booth frequently. I noticed something recently that has been bothering me. Photos taken in Photo Booth are 1280x853. It seems that Photo Booth is cropping a 1280x1024 image, and I wanted to know why and if it is possible to stop it. I know that the iSight is capturing more on the top and bottom of the image than Photo Booth displays/captures. I can see the full image when I use Quicktime or see my video feed in Skype.

I'm not sure, but during the use of the iSight camera using some software I can see lens distortions due to the wide angle of view. I believe some software crop the image to get rid if this effect, but has the downside of a cropped image.
