Photo booth - Turn off mirroring when monitoring?

I know that in Photo Booth you can turn off the mirroring for pics, but is there a way to turn off the mirroring for just monitoring?

I got a USB webcam to put in my window so I can see my front yard outside, but it seems that you can only view everything backwards.

OR, whats a good (and free) webcam software app that allows you to monitor everything correctly?
