Photo Booth will not open

I have Snow Lep 10.6.8 and photo booth is 2.0.3 but needs to be 3.0.2 (I think).

I have looked up the possible fixes and all say to reinstall Snow Lep (I did)

THen I applied the combo update at support.apple.com/kb/DL1048

Then I repaired permissions

Photo booth is still not working and is still 2.0.3

All this took about 2 hours and it didn't work!

Does someone have an answer that actually does work?

Just thought - let me get rid of it - dragged the shortcut to the trash.
Then did the search for it - opened it - and it works.
2 hours wasted before but at least it works.
