iPod touch Photo folders on iPod touch

New owner of an iPod 32 GB touch. Learning how to use it. Photo question. I created a "Photos for iPod" folder on my MacBook to choose photos for the iPod. Put three photos in that folder. After synching, the folder shows up along with an identical content (same three photos) folder "Photo Library." How do I get only one folder and select only the photos I want to have on the iPod?
