I imported around 5GB of photos from an SD card to my iPad Pro about a week ago, and they are still haven’t finished uploading to iCloud because my iPad keeps pausing the library update process - even if I leave it connected to power. In the meantime I have been taking photos on my iPhone and importing other photos to my Mac, but it seems the iPad won’t download any new photos added to my library after this import until the upload finishes. My iPad is my primary editing device so this is pretty frustrating.

Is there any way to get my iPad to just keep updating until my library is up to date, instead of pausing every hour? I believe this was how it worked in iOS 10 and this auto-pause functionality is new in iOS 11.

For sh!ts and giggles I tweeted at the Apple support account for their thoughts and their only idea was to erase my iPad’s contents and settings.
