Ok, this is a bit weird but this is probably my best shot this year.. not because it is sharp but because it is weird. Apparently it is not too often that you can see a grasshopper cleaning itself.. especially when it is sitting on my TV table in my living room. It had no problem me setting up my camera and getting really close....
Entered it inset a photo contest and actually won too
oh well..
So it's December again, and the near year is coming soon. I've seen some other forums doing things like this, so I figured I'd start a thread here. Post your best photo from this past year (or any one you want to share) here.
This is a pretty tough choice because I've taken quite a few pictures I've liked just over the past couple of months. Still, I think I have to go with this one of my younger daughter drawing while at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. I knew it was good the moment I took it.
There's no competition, it's just posting the photos you like, and others can comment. Is this a competition or just posting?
Definitely my favorite of the year.

Not surprising it won, that's a nice photo! I've never seen any insect in that position either, definitely a nice one.
Yeah, that's what I like about this idea. You have to look through all your photos and pick one that you like best. Also, nice photo! You certainly did a good job picking (and taking!) a great photo.
I just realized I forgot to post mine, so here it is:

I love being outside photographing nature, and just the fact that i was able to capture this rare bird ( for me anyway) and being so close, makes this my favorite of this past year
