Hey all,
I'm in the market for a new printer and I'm totally befuddled at what to get.

Here's my requirements/wish list
Photo printing
If possible, many ink cartridges (instead of one three color cartidge)
up to 8x10 prints borderless would be a plus but not required.
pigment based would also be a plus but isn't required

I've been searching, reading and pondering. Here's what I have so far.
HP 8850 but the recent amazon reviews have me spooked. right now the price is excellent (Is that a sign HP is refreshing the line?) at 400. I've also been hearing/reading that HP's quality maybe decreasing and their support has definitely gone down the crapper.

Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II
A tad expensive for a dye based printer and it seems that it doesn't handle B&W prints too well. I don't do a lot of them but I do like to print them from time to time. Reviews seem to be somewhat positive

Both the 8850 and the Pixma Pro 9000 are larger format printers - probably too large for my needs and to be honest they both may be too much printer (and price) for my needs as well.

I'm not a professional photographer but I am perhaps a serious amateur photographer and I want a good photo printer for a decent price.

Is there other printers that I should consider, any thoughts or recommendations. I should point out that I am not interested in epson because of the problems related to intermittent use. I won't use the printer everyday, maybe a few times a week, maybe a few times a month depending on what event I went too. From what I've read epson has a bad reputation for clogged heads

thanks in advance.
