Quick question here guys.

When I take a photo, and email it, is anyone else getting the types of results as me:

Take photo.
Open camera roll, and "email"
Says photo is 3.4MB (ok, bit big for a 5MP right?)
Send through gmail, arrives on iphone mail. Mail says image is 2.4MB, hmmm
Then, logging on to a pc, going to gmail, photo says 1.7MB.
I download it, and it also says 1.7MB.

So,
Send photo: 3.4MB
Receive Photo on iPhone mail: 2.4MB
Receive Photo on PC Gmail: 1.7MB
Download via Gmail: 1.7MB

What gives?

Maybe the phone says its larger to account for the time it takes to pen it or something(I have no clue).

I would guess gmail automatically resizes it. Try with a yahoo or something?

Sending via a yahoo email, the sending size is 1.7MB right away. It also arives as 1.7MB. I do not know the original file size at this point, and 3.4MB/pic sounds somewhat big.

If I send a file over gmail, photo or not, it shouldn't resize it should it?

Idk I use yahoo haha.
Try testing with some non iphone images. I would suggest syncing them over and then looking at their size. then send and see what happens.
