Photo stream and icloud, strange behaviours

Installed ios 5 GM on a 3gs and an ipad2 and i'm trying some of the new features, but there are some strange behaviours I don't understand:

sync contacts with icloud
despite sync is "on" on both devices, contacts doesn't sync on ipad. The iphone is fine, but the ipad shows empty list. Disable contacts sync on the ipad seems work but just shows local saved contacts.

Photo stream
how does exactly works? I'm unable to put existing pictures from camera roll to photo stream, it works only with new shots.
Once in photo stream seems impossible to delete pictures from there: is the icloud web interface the only way to do that? If I want delete just some pictures and not the whole set?

Ok, solved this one doing some enable/disable contacts sync, after contacts app crash now works fine.
