photo stream not working

i just turned on photo stream on my iphone 4s for the first time and none of my photos are uploading. I keep clicking the photo stream folder and there are no pics in it

Only photos taken after you've turned Photo Stream ON get added, not photos taken previously.

If you have a Mac or PC, you can upload your previous photos into PhotoStream.
