Photo Stream Requirements?

Do I have to have Lion or use iPhoto to have Photo Stream? Or can I just have it download to a random folder? I use Lightroom so that would just make things a lot easier for me.

You will need to use iPhoto. They will release an update for iPhoto for iCloud and photo stream integration.

So no way for us Lightroom users to use the iCloud photo stream? I would hope that is only a temporary situation until Adobe upgrades LR to support iCloud photo stream.
