Photo stream

I have set up the photo stream app on my windows laptop so I can get the photos on it as soon as I take them on my iPhone 5, works without any problems but I have a question.

I heard they are only available for 30 days so am I right in thinking that they will be deleted from my laptop if certain photos are older than that.

The "My Photo Stream" will only store pics for 30 days, but you can add pics from there to another shared photo stream or download them to your computer to keep them permanently.

Correct. When a photo is removed from Photo Stream it is also removed from your laptop's Photo Stream folder. If you have moved or copied the photo, that photo or it's copy will not be deleted.
