Photobooth Trouble

I am having some issues with PhotoBooth. THe first thing is, when I select either 1 or 2 for the effects, all the pictures of me (in the sampleings) are VERY SLOW and sluggish. If I move my head, it takes 2 seconds to show it move on the screen. It didn't used to. Moreover, when I select the popart picture, if only shows me in the top left. The other 3 are not there, just a yellow back ground. I recently installed OS X a few times to fix another bug. However, I don't know why this is happening! Thanks for any help!
