Over there------->
Welcome to the Cliché Celebration Thread. So you shot a subject that's about as novel as a Newton, but gosh darnit, you like it. Bring it on! Here's your chance to revel in the realm of the 'already done'.

In response to a tangent that developed in the Irrational dislikes thread, I thought it would be fun to trot out our photographic clichés and let them shine. So dig up your best insect on a flower, lone tree in a big field, or self portrait in a mirror...if you're stuck for good clichés, you might consult the list I compiled here: link. But there are many more, so don't stop with those!

Maybe we'll be able to see why these subjects continue to attract photographers year after year; maybe we'll see just how endless the variations can be on a given theme; maybe we'll just get them all out of our collective system and be spurred on to new, creative heights...or maybe we'll just enjoy poking some fun at ourselves. ;)

My own portfolio certainly has its share of old chestnuts. Here are a few to kick off the thread:

Come on, we've all made our own trips down the roads most traveled, so let's see the results!

The irony Doylem is that I actually like this image :)

Shot taken with the camera on the ground just because this "radical" perspective might look cool and artsy:

The obligatory shot in the subways of New York City:

Finally two shots of New York City random old person/homeless person (the last one is even in B&W to add more to the cliché, but in my defense it was actually taken years ago with an N90s using that funky Ilford "B&W" film that could be processed in a color lab):
