No they weren't.

Nobody knows when the MBP's will be updated - they will happen when they happen.

The 12th September event took place in San Francisco and involved a new release of every single model of Apple's iPod line (you know, the product that generates half of Apple's income?), a new version of iTunes - the most popular music software in the world and the preview of a device that will enable home theatre operation of all iTunes Store content including full-length feature films (admittedly the movies aren't available outside the US). I'd hardly call that a non-event.

The Apple Expo Paris, which started on the same day as the Showtime Apple event was a "non-event" and we knew it would be for ages as Apple had specifically said there would be no Keynote speech there.

Yesterday's event at Photokina ushered in a new, massively improved, version of Aperture - a fitting announcement for the event.

Any updates to the MBP are only rumours at this point. There is not a single person on this board who knows when it's going to happen and you should realise this when reading our posts.

Every year there is some expectation from the Paris Expo, yet I can't think of 1 year where something was actually released there.
